Overview
We are looking for a Branch Manager to lead a mid-sized freight forwarding operation with approximately 40–50 employees in Charlotte, NC. This role owns branch performance end-to-end, combining commercial leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability to drive sustainable growth and a strong customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse branch team, building a high-performance and accountability-driven culture
- Grow the branch through new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts
- Maintain direct relationships with key clients and identify new revenue opportunities
- Oversee daily operations to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent service delivery
- Manage branch financial performance, including revenue growth, cost control, and cash flow
- Analyze market conditions and performance data to adjust strategy and stay competitive
- Partner with senior leadership to align branch priorities with broader business objectives
- Champion transparency, integrity, and continuous improvement across the branch
- Travel as needed to support clients and business development activities
People Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent across the branch
- Set clear goals, track performance, and provide regular coaching and feedback
- Support employee development while recognizing and rewarding strong performance
- Create an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in freight forwarding or logistics leadership
- Proven success managing large, multi-functional teams
- Strong commercial mindset with financial and operational acumen
- Effective communicator with the ability to lead through change
