Regional Director of Customs Brokerage (East Coast)
A leading global freight forwarding organization is seeking a Regional Director of Customs Brokerage to oversee operations across five offices on the US East Coast.
This role carries full regional responsibility for brokerage performance, compliance, commercial alignment, and team leadership. You will act as the senior escalation point for customs matters, ensuring consistent service delivery, regulatory excellence, and profitable growth across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop brokerage leadership teams across multiple East Coast locations
- Own regional compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to CBP regulations and internal controls
- Drive operational consistency, productivity, and service quality across all offices
- Partner with sales and forwarding leadership to support customer retention and growth
- Act as senior point of contact for audits, escalations, and complex customs issues
- Contribute to national strategy and transformation initiatives for customs brokerage
Key Requirements
- Licensed US Customs Broker (mandatory)
- Extensive senior leadership experience within customs brokerage
- Proven track record managing multi-site or regional operations
- Strong regulatory knowledge with the ability to translate compliance into scalable processes
- Commercially minded leader with experience supporting large, complex customers
