The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, developing strategic customer relationships, and increasing revenue through the sale of international and domestic freight forwarding services, including air, ocean, and ground transportation. This role focuses on prospecting, client acquisition, account growth, and delivering customized logistics solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue and gross profit targets
- Conduct in-person client visits to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships
- Analyze customer supply chains and propose tailored freight forwarding and logistics solutions
- Prepare and present competitive pricing proposals, quotations, and service agreements
- Negotiate rates and contract terms with clients in alignment with company objectives
- Collaborate with operations, customer service, and pricing teams to ensure seamless onboarding and service execution
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline development, and forecasts in CRM systems
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
- Resolve client concerns proactively and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
