Air & Ocean Export Coordinator

Role Summary
The Air & Ocean Export Coordinator will manage the end-to-end execution of export shipments, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional who enjoys handling both air and ocean exports in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international air and ocean export shipments from booking through final departure
- Arrange carrier bookings, routing, and consolidation
- Prepare and review export documentation (HAWB/MAWB, B/L, commercial invoices, packing lists, AES filings, certificates of origin, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, including EAR and ITAR (where applicable)
- File AES/EEI via ACE
- Track cargo and provide proactive shipment updates to customers
- Coordinate pick-ups, drayage, and warehouse handling
- Communicate with overseas agents, airlines, steamship lines, truckers, and customers
- Resolve shipment issues, delays, and exceptions
- Maintain accurate records in operating systems
- Support billing and file closing processes
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in air and ocean export operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of export documentation and U.S. export compliance
- Experience with AES/EEI filings
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with freight forwarding software and MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized freight forwarder
- Knowledge of trade compliance regulations (EAR / ITAR)
- Experience with CargoWise or similar systems
- Multilingual skills a plus
