We are seeking an experienced Customs House Brokerage (CHB) Manager to oversee daily customs brokerage operations for our freight forwarding business in Atlanta. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing team performance, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring timely and accurate customs clearance of shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily import customs clearance and brokerage operations.
- Ensure compliance with CBP regulations, HTS classification, and applicable government agency requirements.
- Lead, train, and develop the customs brokerage team.
- Monitor operational performance, entry accuracy, and clearance timelines.
- Resolve customs delays, compliance issues, and customer escalations.
- Collaborate with air and ocean freight, trucking, sales, and customer service teams.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor department KPIs, productivity, and profitability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in U.S. customs brokerage, preferably within a freight forwarding environment.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, ACE, HTS classification, and import compliance.
- U.S. Customs Broker License preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
