Ocean Import Manager - Atlanta, GA - Hybrid
The Ocean Import Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Ocean Import department, ensuring the efficient movement of international shipments while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining compliance with all import regulations
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the Ocean Import team.
- Oversee the end-to-end ocean import process from booking through final delivery.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company procedures.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and vendors.
- Resolve shipment issues and provide proactive customer communication.
- Monitor department performance, profitability, and service levels.
- Partner with Sales, Customs Brokerage, Accounting, and Operations teams to support customer needs.
- Drive process improvements and ensure accurate billing and documentations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of ocean import freight forwarding experience
- 3+ years of management or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of ocean import operations, shipping documentation, and U.S. import procedures
- Experience with CargoWise
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
