Job description

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for operations? Do you thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to head up an operations team of 12 import, export & trucking coordinators at a midsize international freight forwarder with a strong domestic arm. This role, based in Philadelphia, offers a competitive salary of $120-140K.


Job Description

  • Lead and manage a team of 12 import, export & trucking coordinators
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure efficient coordination of import, export, and trucking activities
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize performance and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Monitor industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance with international trade laws
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team


Key requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics management
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • In-depth knowledge of import, export, and trucking operations
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving targets
