Job Summary
The Duty Drawback Senior Manager will report directly to the President/CEO of a large global freight forwarder.
This key role involves building and leading a high-performing drawback function from the ground up. Responsibilities include developing strategies, implementing processes, and managing a team of Drawback Associates. The Senior Manager will oversee the refund claim process for import duties, taxes, and fees when goods are exported or destroyed, ensuring full regulatory compliance, maximizing refunds, and working closely with customs authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Lead Strategy: Build a comprehensive duty drawback program, identifying opportunities across business units and product lines.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Team Management: Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of Drawback Associates.
- Claim Process Oversight: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of drawback claims.
- Data & Technology: Utilize data analytics to improve processes and optimize refund recovery.
- Documentation & Audits: Maintain meticulous records and respond to CBP inquiries and audits.
